Whitehaven's 2019 Sauvignon Blanc is more restrained than I remember previous vintages being, with the focus on a core of generous grapefruit aromas and flavors. Sure, there are hints of green herbs and passion fruit, but they're contained, composed, and the overall presentation is—dare I say it—medium-bodied and elegant.

This wine offers the classic pungency of the Marlborough style. It’s lucid and layered with black currant leaf, gooseberry, waxy citrus fruit and a lick of tomato stem. The palate is slippery and herbal, dry with enough textural weight to pair with soft cheese and salads.

Fragrant and vibrant, with lemongrass, Key lime, Asian pear and fresh ginger notes on a sleek frame. Delivers a touch of honeysuckle on the finish.
