More pure crème de cassis, tobacco, sappy herbs, and cedar notes emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Valley, a medium-bodied, beautifully balanced, and elegant Cabernet. It's already drinking nicely, yet I have no doubt it will evolve for 10-12 years, if not longer.

This chunky, chocolaty wine from one of California's oldest wineries is saturated with black fruits, oak spices and fine-grained tannins that give it power and concentration. Excellent ripeness, depth and length bode well for continued aging. Best from 2025

Opaque ruby in color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon gives up crème de cassis, black cherry jam, dried herbs and cedar with notions of dark earth, blackcurrant bud, warm red cherries and tobacco. The medium to full-bodied palate is powerful but elegant, with a firm, chalky frame and good freshness to lift the long finish. 3,989 cases produced.
